design our foundation
Drawing from our background in fashion, interiors and architecture, our projects are driven by classic design principles. From the first thought to the final touch, balance between beauty and function is at the heart of our decisions. We design with respect for the past while catering to the lifestyle of tomorrow.
Whether beginning a new renovation or planning the next Jewelbox,
the Shophouse Home process takes shape in 3 phases.
Phase I Analysis:
review neighborhood context and architectural history; determine potential to enhance character
survey existing conditions, assess infrastructure and systems (plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, water, waste)
estimate scope of work, meet contractors, build budget
Phase II Design:
collect design precedents and create project mood board
incorporate bespoke lighting and accessory finds
review and source material selections
design and detail custom elements for fabrication
Phase III Implementation:
manage construction process and schedule
material delivery and quality inspection
stage and furnish spaces
It has taken years to assemble a team with the skills and experience to deliver projects that align with our values.
We’ve searched for artisans and contractors that excel at their craft while daily site visits ensure all details are considered with the design vision in mind.
